US Weighing Fresh Military Action Against Iran Amid Stalled Peace Talks

Washington Reportedly Preparing New Strike Plans

The United States is reportedly considering a fresh round of military action against Iran as diplomatic efforts remain stalled and tensions in West Asia continue to rise.

According to reports, American officials have prepared plans for possible renewed strikes on Iranian targets if negotiations fail to produce a breakthrough. The discussions gained momentum after US President Donald Trump concluded his recent visit to China, where he reportedly discussed the Iran conflict and the Strait of Hormuz situation with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Officials said the White House has not yet taken a final decision on restarting military operations, which had been paused following the ceasefire announced earlier this year.

Trump Faces Pressure Over Iran Strategy

The report comes at a politically sensitive time for Trump ahead of upcoming mid-term elections in the United States.

The ongoing conflict and its economic impact have reportedly increased domestic pressure on the administration, with concerns growing over rising energy prices and military spending.

Several US allies are also urging Washington to pursue a diplomatic compromise that could help reopen the Strait of Hormuz and reduce tensions in the region.

Trump, however, has continued to reject Iran’s recent peace proposals, maintaining that Tehran must fully abandon any nuclear ambitions and restore normal shipping movement through the strategic waterway.

Pentagon Reportedly Preparing “Operation Epic Fury 2.0”

Reports suggest the Pentagon is preparing contingency plans for a possible escalation in military operations, informally referred to as “Operation Epic Fury 2.0”.

US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth recently told lawmakers that the United States has plans ready in case the conflict intensifies further.

Officials familiar with the developments said the US and Israel are conducting extensive military preparations for potential strikes targeting Iranian military facilities and infrastructure.

Military Options Under Consideration

According to reports, American officials are evaluating multiple military options if fresh action is approved.

One proposal reportedly involves intensified airstrikes on Iranian military and infrastructure targets. Another option includes deploying Special Operations forces to secure or destroy nuclear-related material believed to be hidden underground.

A separate plan reportedly considers targeting Kharg Island, one of Iran’s key oil export hubs. However, analysts warn such operations could significantly escalate the conflict and increase the risk of direct confrontation with Iranian forces.

Iran Warns It Is Prepared for Any Conflict

Iranian officials have responded strongly to reports of possible renewed attacks, warning that Tehran is fully prepared for any military escalation.

Senior Iranian leaders stated that the country’s armed forces are ready to respond to any aggression and claimed Iran has restored access to much of its missile and defence infrastructure.

According to assessments cited in reports, Iran has regained operational control over most missile facilities located near the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important global oil transit routes.

The Strait remains strategically crucial, carrying a significant portion of international oil shipments, and any disruption there could heavily impact global energy markets.

Diplomatic Uncertainty Continues

Despite growing military preparations, diplomatic channels between various countries remain active as efforts continue to avoid a wider regional war.

Iran has maintained that negotiations and diplomacy remain the only practical route for resolving the crisis, while the United States continues to insist on stricter conditions for any future agreement.

The coming days are expected to be critical as global powers closely monitor developments in the increasingly volatile West Asian region.
