Wedding Shifted To Hospital After Fire Accident Leaves Bride Injured
In an emotional incident from Kanpur, a groom married his fiancée inside a hospital after she suffered serious burn injuries in a fire accident just hours before their wedding ceremony.
The heartwarming moment reminded many of the Bollywood film Vivah, where the lead couple marries in a hospital after the bride suffers burn injuries.
Fire Broke Out During Pre-Wedding Rituals
The couple, identified as Vikas and Shweta, were scheduled to get married on Thursday.
However, celebrations turned tragic on Wednesday evening when a fire reportedly broke out at Shweta’s house during pre-wedding preparations.
According to reports, the blaze started after a gas cylinder pipe leak triggered a sudden fire inside the house.
Amid the chaos, a utensil filled with hot oil overturned, worsening the situation and leaving multiple people injured.
At least 12 people, including the bride, sustained burn injuries in the incident.
Bride Shifted To Private Hospital
All the injured were initially rushed to a nearby government hospital.
Due to the severity of her injuries, Shweta was later shifted to a private hospital for specialised treatment.
When Vikas learned about the accident, he immediately reached the hospital along with his family members.
Despite suggestions from relatives to postpone the wedding, the groom reportedly refused and decided to stand by his fiancée during the difficult moment.
Hospital Burn Ward Turned Into Wedding Venue
With permission from hospital authorities and the consent of both families, arrangements were made inside the hospital itself for the marriage ceremony.
The wedding rituals were then carried out inside the burn ward in the presence of close family members and medical staff.
Vikas applied sindoor to Shweta and the couple exchanged garlands while completing traditional marriage rituals from the hospital bed itself.
Doctors Say Bride’s Condition Stable
Hospital staff and relatives present during the ceremony were visibly emotional witnessing the unusual wedding.
Doctors treating Shweta later said her condition was stable and that she was recovering from the injuries.
The incident has since drawn widespread attention online, with many praising the groom’s decision to go ahead with the marriage despite the tragic circumstances.
