Amazon Offering Up to 50% Cashback on Grocery Orders
Amazon has launched one of the most aggressive cashback campaigns in India’s quick commerce market as it looks to compete with major players like Blinkit, Zepto and Instamart.
Under the new offer, customers using Amazon Now can receive Rs 100 cashback on grocery orders worth Rs 200 or more. The cashback is credited as Amazon Pay balance, effectively giving users up to 50 per cent savings on smaller orders.
The cashback amount remains fixed at Rs 100 for orders up to Rs 1,400, while purchases above that threshold can earn cashback of up to Rs 200.
Amazon Steps Up Push in Quick Commerce Market
The move signals Amazon’s serious attempt to strengthen its position in India’s rapidly growing quick commerce segment, where companies such as Blinkit and Zepto currently dominate.
Although Amazon entered the sector later than its competitors, the company is now using aggressive pricing strategies and cashback incentives to attract customers and increase usage of Amazon Now.
The company has also been rapidly expanding its network of dark stores — small warehouses that enable ultra-fast deliveries. Reports suggest Amazon currently operates around 750 to 800 dark stores across India, while Blinkit has over 2,000.
Fast Expansion of Amazon Now
Amazon Now was initially launched in late 2024, but the service has started gaining wider visibility in 2026 as the company expanded its delivery infrastructure in major cities.
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy had earlier highlighted the platform’s rapid growth, stating that order volumes were increasing significantly month after month. According to the company, Prime members using Amazon Now have also increased their shopping frequency considerably.
Cashback Strategy Aimed at Winning New Customers
Industry observers believe the cashback campaign is designed to encourage users to try Amazon’s quick commerce service and shift away from existing platforms.
Many customers have reportedly received multiple cashback rewards on separate purchases, making monthly grocery expenses significantly cheaper.
Users combining the offer with Amazon-ICICI credit card benefits have been able to maximise savings further through additional cashback rewards.
However, some customers have also reported that the cashback option disappeared after a few days, suggesting the offer may vary by user, region or promotional limits.
Competition in India’s Quick Commerce Sector Intensifies
India’s quick commerce market has become one of the most competitive segments in the digital retail space, with companies investing heavily in faster deliveries, discounts and customer acquisition.
While Amazon has the financial strength to sustain large promotional campaigns, success in the sector will depend on customer experience, delivery speed and long-term service quality.
Experts note that aggressive cashback offers have often helped companies gain market share in India, especially in sectors such as digital payments and e-commerce. However, retaining customers after promotional offers end remains the bigger challenge.
With the latest campaign, Amazon appears determined to establish itself as a serious player in the country’s fast-growing quick delivery business.
